The
NAPG presents Wading Through the Light and Shadows
A collaborative effort of writer David Butler, choreographer
Amy Taravella, composer David Kane, and director Drew McCabe,
Wading Through the Light and Shadows is a completely
original production. Moving smoothly through pieces of poetry
and other short pieces of various genres, the text traces
the life of a man through the universal experiences of family
drama, loss, love, fear, and elation. These moving words are
combined with movement pieces that stand as works of art in
their own right. These works are mutually illuminating, as
the words inspire the movement and the movement pieces enlighten
the meaning of the words.
The production utilizes shadow puppets, movement, and light
play to create a seamless backdrop of visual dynamism. The
final layer in this intricate blend is the otherworldly soundscape
that draws all the elements together. The show also features
the talents of performers Tim Newell, Michael Renna, and Kristin
Bentley.
This intimate piece of physical theatre is like nothing you've
seen before. Performances will be taking place February 4th-21st.
